ME AND MY CAMERA

A Bit About Me

I am River Williams, a Melbourne-based artist currently studying a Bachelor of Arts Photography at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT). I’ve been interested in art for a while as it allows me to communicate something about myself and who I am. I often use photography as my prime medium of choice as I find there’s something magical in creating a fictional narrative with a real and alive subject. I use myself as my subject in a lot of my work. I find I tend to do this because I can not verbally describe the relationship with myself and my body, in which photography allows me to express this. I also enjoy working with people in portraiture, further building my relationship with a model to convey a truthful archetype embodying the person infront of the camera. I enjoy photography and want to share the importance of art with everyone.
